Making the pictures I take into works of art with my post processing is something I love to do and am very passionate about. I love taking a flat, dull image and bringing it to life. Michelle Kane asked me to do a few edits using her amazing actions, that I love and use on a day to day basis. This was easy for me since her actions are all I ever use. These actions are such great tools and have so much flexibility so that I can really customize each and every image to my liking. Hope you like this tutorial and maybe there will be more to come:).
I wanted to use a close up image to show how you can enhance makeup to create a more dramatic look. Chloe is a beautiful girl and her makeup was done so well, which made my job a lot easier.
These are the steps I used from start to finish.
1.See things clearer 50% opacity, used all over.
2. Flawless Face 40% opacity, used on skin.
3. Sparkle 80% opacity, used on eyes then 60% opacity for eyebrows, lips and earring.
4. Eye Excitement at 20% opacity brushed onto eyes.
5. Glisten at 20% opacity brushed onto eyes.
6. Blue eyed beauty at 8% opacity brushed onto eyes.
7. Curves layer to lighten and add contrast.
8. Dark all over brushed off areas that I want to stay lighter.
9. repeat step 5, concentrating on brushing the dark on to cheeks to contour them, eyebrows, eyeshadow (to create more of a dramatic look), eyeliner, The underneath and other darker areas of the hair. Then brushing that dark off of the highlights.
10. Light Optimizer used all over at about 20 or 30% opacity.
11. Light Optimizer again but only brushed on to the background to add a little more pop in the highlights.
12. Bland to Brilliant brushed onto the face at about 15% opacity just for additional sharpening and pop.
13. Rapture brushed onto certain areas used at about 20% opacity
14. Beautiful Warmth brushed onto back ground at about 30% opacity and the hair at about 20% opacity and the skin in the darker areas such as cheeks, forehead, nose, under chin at about 10% opacity used for additional contouring and depth.
15. Rosy Dusk used at 40% opacity and brushed on back ground, especially the shadows. Then used on the skin just on the cheeks and lips at about 8% opacity.
16. Rosy Cheeks used at 5% opacity on cheeks and lips.
16. Opulent light used at 20% opacity on highlights, and areas that the sun would hit such as top left corner, in leaves, top of hair and tip of shoulder.
17. Brown Sugar used at 30% opacity just on the outer edge of picture and were more depth was needed.
18. Dodge, using 3% opacity over entire image.
19. Sponge, using 3% opacity over entire image.
20. Burn, using 3% opacity to deepen makeup even more. eyeshadow, eyeliner even eyebrows.
